DockHost ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by S2 Tech LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the DockHost mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using DockHost, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide:

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.

• Profile Information: You may optionally provide vessel details (boat name, length, beam, draft), home port, and communication preferences.

• Booking Information: When you book a dock slip, we collect dates, vessel details, and payment information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we do not store your full credit card number.

• Host Information: If you list a dock slip, we collect marina details, slip specifications, pricing, photos, and payout information.

• Communications: Messages you send through the app, feedback, and support requests.

Information Collected Automatically:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.

• Usage Data: Pages and features you access, search queries, filters applied, listings viewed, and interaction timestamps.

• Location Data: With your permission, we may collect your approximate location to show nearby marinas, slips, and listings. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.

• Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver notifications.

Information from Third Parties:

• We display publicly available listing information from Boatsetter, GetMyBoat, VRBO, and Airbnb. We do not collect personal data from users of those platforms.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.

• To process dock slip bookings and payments.

• To match you with relevant listings based on your vessel size and preferences.

• To send booking confirmations, reminders, and service updates.

• To send marketing communications (only if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time).

• To improve the Service through usage analytics.

• To respond to support requests and feedback.

• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

• To comply with legal obligations.

 

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• With Dock Slip Hosts: When you book a slip, the host receives your name, vessel details, and booking dates to fulfill the reservation.

• With Service Providers: We use third-party services for payment processing (Stripe), data hosting (Supabase), push notifications (Expo), and analytics. These providers only access information necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

• With Concierge Vendors: If you request a concierge service (captain, provisioning, etc.), we share your name, slip location, and service details with the assigned vendor.

• For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of S2 Tech LLC, our users, or the public.

• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

 

4. Third-Party Services and Links

DockHost aggregates listings from Boatsetter, GetMyBoat, VRBO, and Airbnb. When you tap "Book on Boatsetter," "Reserve via VRBO," or similar buttons, you are redirected to those platforms in your browser. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their data practices. We encourage you to review their policies before completing transactions.

 

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Booking records are retained for a minimum of three years for legal and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8). Usage data and analytics are retained in anonymized form.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encrypted data storage, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

7. Children's Privacy

DockHost is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

 

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and Correction: You can view and update your account information in the Profile section of the app.

• Account Deletion: You can delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by contacting support@dockhost.app. Deletion removes your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

• Marketing Opt-Out: You can manage marketing communications in Profile → Communication Preferences, or by tapping "Unsubscribe" in any marketing email.

• Push Notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications in your device settings.

• Location Data: You can enable or disable location access in your device settings.

For California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact support@dockhost.app.

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (bookings), legitimate interest (service improvement), and consent (marketing). To exercise your rights, contact support@dockhost.app.

 

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
